MUNCIE, Ind. — A Muncie woman was arrested after reportedly pulling a man with cerebral palsy from a wheelchair and then stealing his cellphone along with hundreds of dollars in late August.

Loni Renae Fleming, 41, was charged with:

    • Robbery, a Level 5 Felony
    • Theft, a Level 5 Felony
    • Battery Against a Disabled Person, a Level 6 Felony
    • Dealing Marijuana, Hash Oil, Hashish, a Level 6 Felony

According to court documents, Fleming was visiting the victim’s home at the 2000 block of South Penn St. when the pair allegedly began arguing. A neighbor who regularly took Smith dinner could hear the accused attacker allegedly say, “No one would care…”.

During the reported assault, Fleming stole his Samsung Galaxy S25 cell phone and $300. Fleming allegedly grabbed him by the pants and pulled him to the ground out of his electric wheelchair that he was bound to. Fleming fled the scene in a red car.

When Muncie Police Department officials arrived at the scene, they observed a large tear on the victim’s sweatpants on the left side near the upper thigh area. Officers began to look for Fleming and found her at an address in the 1400 block of West 10th St.

When officers located the suspect, she reportedly appeared intoxicated due to her slurred speech and bloodshot watery eyes.

Fleming was transported to the Delaware County Jail on a $40,000 surety bond.
