    IMPD: Person critically shot on Indy’s near west side

    INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after a shooting on the city’s near west side left a person in critical condition Wednesday afternoon.

    Per IMPD, officers were called around 2:54 p.m. to Eskenazi Hospital, located on the 500 block of St. Margaret’s Drive, after receiving reports of a walk-in person shot. There, they located a victim with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.

    Police said preliminary information appears to indicate that the shooting originally occurred in the 3800 block of W. Michigan Street. There is no threat to the public at the hospital.

    Neither a suspect nor cause of the shooting has been announced at this time. FOX59/CBS4 will update this article once more details are made available.
