ANDERSON, Ind. — An Anderson man faces charges for unlawful carrying of a handgun on school property and intimidation after he allegedly brought a gun to an Anderson school on Wednesday and threatened students with it.

According to police documents, 35-year-old Leonard Buster visited Highland Middle School around 3:45 p.m. to discuss his child having an altercation with another student on the bus.

Buster then brought up his concerns about recent threats to Anderson High School , and claimed “…that he would come to school if there was ever a shooting to protect his kid”, specifically stating that he had an AR-15 in his car at the moment, the documents wrote.

Court documents then indicate that one of the staff members at Highland Middle School showed an Anderson Police Department officer video surveillance of the incident. In the video, Buster walks past the front desk, begins to exit the office, looks back at four children sitting near there (who were not in frame), lifts up on the right side of his shirt and taps what police say looked like a pistol in his waistband before leaving the school.

APD then gathered a search warrant on Buster’s residence. There, police spoke with a woman who confirmed Buster likely had the firearm on his person that day.

“They [the students] were saying stuff as he was walking out of the school and he said something, and he like moved his shirt up,” she said.

Court docs said that when asked why Mr. Buster would show the children his gun, the woman stated “he’s a dumba**.”

Following that, ADP officers searched Buster’s vehicle. They found a a 45 mm handgun located on Buster’s right side in a holster near his waistband. Buster was then detained and officers seized his firearm, per court docs.

A later investigation into Buster’s residence led to the seizure of one handgun and two AR-15s, the docs said.

Online court records indicate Buster faces four counts of intimidation, a level 5 felony, and one count of possession of a firearm on school property, a level 6 felony. If convicted, he could face up to six years in prison.

A mugshot for Buster has not yet been provided.

What a crock. That is not a threat! So when you state you will protect your children it's a threat now? Yeah it was a dumbass move just because it's getting more & more communist like in the USA. But that was a dad who cares for his son.

I would think those good old American Saturday mornings at the town square watching someone convulsing at the end of the rope cut down on a lot of repeat offenders.
