INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis Metro police officer has been put on administrative leave while the department investigates “allegations involving the officer.”

IMPD confirmed to FOX59/CBS4 Friday afternoon that an officer has been “placed on administrative duty” as they investigate the unspecified allegations.

“IMPD is aware of allegations involving an officer and is currently conducting an investigation,” the department said. “IMPD cannot comment on active investigations.”

The department’s public affairs office said that the officer in question has no law enforcement power, duty or equipment during this active investigation.

“Upon conclusion of the investigations, the findings will be shared with the community to uphold transparency and accountability,” IMPD concluded.

FOX59/CBS4 is looking to learn more information and confirm the specific allegations made against the officer. No other information has been released by IMPD as of 12:20 p.m. Friday.
