Crash forces temporary closure of I-65 southbound near Whitestown

BOONE COUNTY, Ind. — A crash forced emergency personnel to temporarily close part of Interstate 65 southbound near Whitestown Saturday evening.

According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, as of 5:44 p.m., all lanes of I-65 southbound between County Road 650 South and Interstate 865 were shut down because of a crash.

Per the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, as of 6:10 p.m., all lanes of I-65 southbound had been reopened. The Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department has reported that the crash was cleaned up within 20 minutes of police arriving at the scene.

The cause of the crash and the number injuries it may have produced, if any, are unknown at this time.
