HCSO: Traffic stop leads to chase through Fishers, 4 pounds of meth seized

FISHERS, Ind. — A traffic stop in Hamilton County led to a chase that went through Fishers over the weekend, ending in an arrest and the seizure of more than four pounds of meth.

According to a post on social media from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy with the office conducted a traffic stop on I-69. Officials said the person failed to stop, causing a pursuit through Fishers.

The chase concluded when the person’s vehicle became stuck in a ditch. The post read that this led to a foot chase into a nearby apartment complex. The person was eventually taken into custody without incident.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of:

• Four pounds of methamphetamine
• 136 grams of cocaine
• A stolen firearm
• A small amount of marijuana.

Officials said Briandre Quashon Howard was arrested and booked into the Hamilton County Jail on the following charges:

• Unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon
• Dealing in methamphetamine
• Dealing in cocaine
• Theft of a firearm
• Resisting law enforcement (vehicle and foot)
• Possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana

Haley Rasmussen was also arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
