BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — An Indiana University student has been arrested and charged with raping two women, once at his Bloomington fraternity house.

Noah Apgar, a 20-year-old Greenwood resident and IU student, has been charged in Monroe County Court with strangulation, confinement and five counts of felony rape.

Court documents detail how last week two different women came to Indiana University Police to report a sexual assault. Both times, the victims identified Apgar as the suspect.

One victim described an event where Apgar reportedly cornered her inside the restroom of his fraternity house and sexually assaulted her.

The second victim described him forcefully choking and sexually assaulting her, causing bleeding and more injuries.

Both victims described Apgar continuing with the assaults even after they told him to stop.

“No, we’re not stopping,” a victim quotes Apgar as saying in court documents. “I don’t care, it’s going to happen. Stop not letting it happen, just enjoy it.”

One victim described how Apgar told her that the clothes she was wearing made it seem like she wanted sexual advances from men.

“You’re only dressed like that because you talk to guys,” Apgar reportedly said.

IUPD then gathered evidence against Apgar, which included corroborating witness statements and security footage. The 20-year-old was then charged with Felony 3 rape (five counts), Felony 6 strangulation (one count) and Felony 6 criminal confinement (one count).

Sigma Alpha Epsilon, the fraternity that Apgar is a part of and where one of the rapes allegedly occurred, released a statement to FOX59/CBS4 on Tuesday afternoon:

The Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity Service Center was made aware of an allegation involving a member of our chapter at Indiana University. Upon learning of the alleged incident, SAE immediately suspended the member and began working with the University administration. We are also fully cooperating with local law enforcement to investigate the incident and have urged all of our local members to do the same.

Sigma Alpha Epsilon denounces all acts of sexual violence. Violence in any form does not represent the Fraternity’s values as defined by our creed, The True Gentlemen. We are committed to the well-being of our members, guests, and their respective communities. Our staff will continue to work with our chapters, university officials, and local alumni leaders to reinforce these values.
