    IMPD: 1 critical after shooting on near northwest side

    INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating a shooting on the city’s near northwest side left one person in critical condition.

    According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 1100 block of W. 29th Street on report of a shooting. This is a residential area near 30th Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street.

    Police said officers arrived on scene and found a victim with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. The victim was said to be in critical condition.

    On Friday morning, officials with the IMPD provided an update, stating that the shooting is believed to have occurred in the 1000 block of Udell St. The update states that it remains an ongoing investigation.

    No further information has been released at this time.
