Death investigation underway at home in Wheatfield, Ind.; no other details yet available

WHEATFIELD, Ind. — Authorities are conducting a death investigation at a home in Wheatfield, located in Jasper County, Ind., about an hour-and-a-half southeast of Chicago.

Crime-scene tape still surrounded the property in the 4200 block of Old Orchard Lane early Tuesday morning, and a deputy with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office remained parked in the driveway.

According to the Jasper County Coroner, his office was called to the property Monday, but he did not provide any additional details, including why he was called, or on the nature of the investigation. He said no further details will be available until at least 2 p.m. Tuesday.

In addition to the Sheriff’s Office and the Coroner’s Office, neighbors reported also seeing investigators from the Indiana State Police and the Wheatfield Police Department at the home.
