INDIANAPOLIS — One week after an Indy-based BBQ joint was featured on the Food Network show , another local southern comfort food spot will get the spotlight this week on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”

Indianapolis’ very own His Place Eatery is going to be featured on the popular Food Network show hosted by celebrity chef Guy Fieri . The restaurant – which fuses BBQ and soul food elements for a menu of southern comfort food – is run by Chef James Jones.

“Chef James and his wife Shawn have created a mouthwatering menu that blends classic and innovative dishes with Chef James’ own dry rubs and seasonings,” a news release announcing the restaurant’s appearance reads.

His Place Eatery has two locations in Indianapolis:

    • Eastside : 6916 E. 30th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46219
    • Northside : 1411 W. 86th St., Indianapolis, IN 46260

The restaurant’s menu features Southern culinary classics such as chicken and waffles, pork chops, catfish and various BBQ dishes. Sides include mac & cheese, green beans, collard greens, coleslaw and baked beans. For the full menu, click here .

“Let’s cheer them on as they bring some Indy soul food to the national stage,” the news release reads.

The episode featuring His Place Eatery is scheduled to air at 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11 on the Food Network.

His Place Eatery is the second Indy-based restaurant to be featured on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” in the month of October. Earlier this month, Pa & Ma’s Backyard BBQ at the corner of 26th St. and MLK was visited on the show.

The stop by Fieri at Pa & Ma’s came several months after the restaurant’s owner, George Nelson, was shot and killed in Indianapolis. For more information on the shooting and Fieri’s visit, click here .
