BROWNSBURG, Ind. — The intersection of U.S. Highway 136 and State Road 267 in Brownsburg is closing.

The roadways — which are part of Main and Green Streets in the Town of Brownsburg — will close beginning on Oct. 21, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation. INDOT reported that the closure will allow crews to complete utility work.

The project is expected to last until late November. INDOT, however, emphasized the timeline for completion is weather-dependent and subject to change.

During the closure, crews will also be working in the right lane of State Road 267. INDOT is encouraging drivers to use Northfield Drive or seek other alternate routes to get around the construction.

Drivers in Brownsburg have already been dealing with roadwork near the intersection of Green and Main Streets for weeks. Over the last few months, portions of Green Street have been subjected to traffic restrictions and part of westbound Main Street was closed.

As the latest area road closure begins, INDOT is encouraging motorists to avoid distractions and use caution while driving in work zones.
