INDIANAPOLIS – Anthony Richardson is back.

After missing two games with an oblique injury, the Indianapolis Colts’ second-year quarterback has been cleared to start Sunday when the Miami Dolphins visit Lucas Oil Stadium.

“He will be ready to roll,’’ coach Shane Steichen said Friday.

Running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and cornerback Chris Lammons (ankle) were ruled out.

Richardson was a full practice participant all week and proved to everyone he was sufficiently recovered from the oblique injury he suffered in the first quarter of the week 4 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“He looked good, man,’’ Steichen said. “He was throwing crisp passes. He was great in the pocket, got out and moved around, ran a lot of stuff. He was really good.’’

It’s been a difficult start to Richardson’s career. He’s missed 15 of 23 starts due to a concussion, a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder and the oblique injury. He’s finished only four of his eight starts.

This season, Richardson has completed just 50.6% of his passes for 654 yards with three touchdowns and six interceptions. The interceptions are tied for the second-most in the league despite missing two games.

Prior to getting hurt against the Steelers, Richardson was sharp. He completed 3-of-4 passes for 71 yards and rushed three times for 24 yards. He was hurt at the end of a 14-yard run on a hit by Steelers’ safety DeShon Elliott.

With Richardson under center, the Colts scored on their opening possession (10 plays, 70 yards with Taylor notching a 2-yard TD) and reached the Pittsburgh 6 before he was forced from the game.

Backup Joe Flacco finished that second possession with a 4-yard TD to Josh Downs that gave the Colts a 14-0 lead.

Steichen anticipates there being carryover from the Pittsburgh game for Richardson.

“Absolutely,’’ he said. “He prepared his tail off this week.

    “He’s ready to go.’’

    About Taylor

Steichen said the Colts didn’t consider placing Taylor on the injured reserve list when he sustained the high sprain to his right ankle against the Steelers. That would have meant him missing at least four games.

It seems as if the Colts anticipated Taylor missing two games, maybe three, but not four.

“No,’’ he said of the IR option. “He’s very close (to returning), I’ll say that.’’

    About Buckner

Also, the team might open the 21-day practice window with DeForest Buckner next week. The veteran defensive tackle has been on IR since suffering a high sprained to his right ankle at Green Bay.

“Buckner is really close,’’ Steichen said. “We’re optimistic for next week.’’
