Exploring the plant life at the North Carolina Zoo

ASHEBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Most people visit the North Carolina Zoo to see all the animals but the zoo is also home to thousands of plants.

There are more than 50,000 plants at the world’s largest natural habitat zoo. It takes a lot of manpower to take care of them.

Shannon Smith shows us in today’s Zoo Filez.

Also, you have the opportunity to take home some of the zoo’s prized plants. The zoo is hosting its annual spring plant sale Saturday from 8 am to 3 pm.
