ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A woman is facing a murder charge after being accused of running over four pedestrians with a vehicle, according to the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office.

At around 10:48 p.m. on Friday, Alamance County deputies and North Carolina State Highway Patrol came to the 2400 block of East Simpson Road in Green Level after getting a report of a crash.

Man killed trying to cross Interstate 40 near East Lee Street/Gate City Boulevard

At the scene, investigators discovered that four people in the roadway had been struck by a vehicle.

Troopers and deputies identified the suspect driver as Tamyiah Lakerria Anderson, 21, of Graham.

Allegedly, Anderson drove to East Simpson Road and a physical altercation took place with other people at the scene. Afterward, witnesses say that Anderson got into her vehicle and ran over the four pedestrians.

One of the people who was struck, Brendy Janet Garcia Resendiz, 22, of Graham was killed. Another one of the victims suffered serious injuries. Two of the victims suffered minor injuries.

Anderson later crashed her car into a concrete barrier at a nearby trailer park. She was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries and later released.

As a result of the investigation, Alamance County deputies charged Anderson with second-degree murder and three counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

State troopers are charging Anderson with the following:

    • Driving while impaired
    • Possession of an open container of alcohol
    • Resist, delay, obstruct an officer
    • Driving left of center
    • Seatbelt violation

Anderson remains in custody and was not given bond.
