At the time of his arrest, Lincoln County officials said Fletcher held positions as both a teacher and coach at W.C. Friday Middle School in Dallas, which is part of the Gaston County School system. He also previously served as a coach within the Lincoln County Schools system.

Fletcher waived his extradition from South Carolina and was booked into the Lincoln County Jail. He was reportedly served with outstanding warrants from Catawba County for second-degree kidnapping and indecent liberties, among other charges.

Fletcher worked as an assistant coach for the men’s soccer team at East Lincoln High School in the fall of 2023. He is no longer associated with ELHS or Lincoln County Schools. He also coached for the Dry Pond travel baseball league based out of Denver, N.C.
