Photo: Woman rescues injured turtle lying on road in North Carolina

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WNCN) – A woman sprung into action to save a turtle from the road in Wake County over the weekend.

Liling Warren shared multiple pictures with CBS 17 of an eastern box turtle that she found injured after likely getting hit by a car.

Warren said she asked her friend Natalie Barbour for help. Barbour told her about the N.C. State Turtle Center.

The two of them then took the turtle to the center. When she recently called to check up on the animal, center officials said the turtle was now in fair condition.
