BUTNER, N.C. (WNCN) — Authorities in Granville County are offering a reward in the search for two people who defrauded a business, officials say.

The incident happened earlier this month at a Food Lion at 2531 East Lyon Station Road in Butner, according to a news release from Butner Public Safety.

Officials said the pair conducted “a gift card scheme” to defraud a business on Aug. 3.

Photos of the duo and a car were released by Butner Public Safety, who did not say how much money was stolen in the scheme.

Both men had dreadlock hair and were wearing all black, according to a photo from authorities. The car was a gray sedan, the photos showed.

Officials said a reward up to $2,000 is offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s).

Officers said anyone with information about the pair should contact Sgt. B. Lomena at (919) 575-6561 ext. 103 or call the Granville County Crime Stoppers, Inc. at (919) 693-3100.
