    Suspect sought in downtown Raleigh shooting

    RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A man was sent to the hospital following a shooting in downtown Raleigh early Sunday morning, police said.

    According to the Raleigh Police Department, officers responded at around 2:38 a.m. to a reported shooting on the 400 block of Fayetteville Street. When officers arrived on scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.

    The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that don’t appear to be life-threatening, according to Raleigh police.

    Police said the investigation is ongoing, and no suspect is currently in custody.

    “Additional information will be released at the appropriate time,” according to a news release from the Raleigh Police Department.
