Inspectors clear Rao’s Pool Pickle Party in Greensboro to reopen after brief suspension

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — The party is back on Rao’s Pool Pickle Party.

The membership-only pool in southwest Greensboro, formerly known as Adams Farm Swim and Tennis Club, was cleared to reopen after it was briefly shuttered over safety violations , the owner tells FOX8.

According to the owner, management addressed the issues and the Guilford County Division of Public Health reinspected the pool on Aug. 28, leading the division to lift the suspension.

Located at 1903 Adams Farm Parkway in Greensboro, the pool opened on June 15 for the first time in five years after developer Rao Achanta bought the property in 2024 and began renovating.

The facility includes a 300,000-gallon pool with a nearly 90-foot water slide. It was being updated to include mini golf and a sports bar, and the tennis courts were being turned into 12 pickleball courts.

The pool was inspected on June 14, before the site opened on June 15. The county issued a permit despite finding a few violations and giving the facility a demerit score of 22. The inspection included primarily violations relating to signage and wear-and-tear in the pool and on the deck.

The division of public health again inspected the pool on Aug. 21 and suspended the pool’s permit after issuing a demerit score of 36. The inspection noted violations over signage, record-keeping and wear-and-tear in the pool and on the deck, among other concerns.

On Aug. 28, the division reinspected the site and lifted the suspension. As of about 1 p.m. on Aug. 29, the Guilford County Division of Public Health had not yet updated its online portal with details on the new inspection .
