ELON, N.C. (WGHP) — Two teens were charged with bringing a weapon to educational property after a crash in the Western Alamance High School parking lot on Friday, according to an Alamance County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Around 8:20 a.m., the staff at WSHS told the school resource officer about a vehicle driving erratically in the student parking lot.

The SRO tried to speak with the people in the vehicle after they pulled into a school parking space. The driver left the parking space at a high rate of speed and hit a tractor and a pole, which belonged to the Alamance Burlington School System.

After the crash, the SRO detained the driver and a passenger.

Deputies found a black BB Pistol in a paddle holster in the floorboard between the passenger’s legs. A THC vape pen was also found in the vehicle.

Deputies identified the driver of the vehicle as Nathen Samuel Seger, 18, of Burlington, who is a former student of WAHS.

The passenger Katlin Grace Wilson, 18, of Burlington, is currently enrolled at WAHS.

Both were arrested and taken to the Alamance County Detention Center.

    Seger is charged with:

    • one count of misdemeanor possession of a weapon on educational property
    • one count of misdemeanor resisting a public officer
    • one count of possession of Schedule VI (THC Vape Pen)
    • citation for reckless driving

He was given a $1,000 secured bond.

Wilson was charged with one count of misdemeanor possession of a weapon on educational property

She was given a written promise to appear in court.
