(WGHP) — Hurricane Francine is expected to make landfall this afternoon or evening in Louisiana as a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 90 mph.

After landfall, Francine will remain a tropical storm until Thursday before weakening to a tropical depression later in the day. While we have rain chances on Friday, it is not a direct relation to Francine. Our rainfall will come from a front associated with the remnants of Francine.

We’ll see a nice and comfortable evening in the Triad with temperatures in the 70s through 8 p.m. and partly cloudy skies.

We’ll wake up Thursday in the upper 50s with partly cloudy skies. Throughout the day, we’ll see cloud cover increasing, leaving us with cloudy skies by the end of the day. Temperatures will reach the upper 70s.

Cloudy skies remain on Friday with the potential for a few scattered showers. The chance for rain is 30%. Temperatures will be in the low 60s in the morning with highs in the upper 70s.

The cooler trend continues through the weekend, and there will be lingering chances for scattered showers on both Saturday and Sunday. Winds will be a little breezy this weekend out of the northeast from 10 mph to 15 mph. Temperatures will be in the mid-60s in the mornings with highs in the upper 70s.

A better chance for scattered showers will be on Monday and Tuesday with a 40% to 60% chance. Temperatures will be in the low 60s both days with highs in the mid 70s. Winds will still be a little breezy on Monday.

We’ll see partly cloudy skies Wednesday with a chance for an isolated shower. Temperatures will be in the low 60s in the morning with highs in the upper 70s.
