According to Raleigh police, officers responded to a reported motor vehicle theft at a Food Lion on Lake Wheeler Road at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Police say they located the vehicle in the area of Farm Road and Fayetteville Road. They attempted to stop it, but the driver of the stolen vehicle drove over an officer’s foot and fled the scene. The officer did not sustain any injuries.

The stolen vehicle struck another car during the pursuit, although no injuries were reported. After the stolen vehicle struck a pole at the Grovemont Road and Old Stage Road intersection in Garner, the three juveniles fled on foot. They were then arrested by the responding officers, according to Raleigh police.

According to Raleigh police, the Wake County Sheriff’s Office and the Garner Police Department assisted in the pursuit.

Anyone who believes they may have information that might assist the investigations is asked to call the Raleigh Police Department at 919-996-3335. They also may visit Raleigh Crime Stoppers and click “Leave a Tip” on the top right of the page.
