DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – A goat found on the side of the road in Durham County last week will soon be auctioned.

On Tuesday, the Durham County Sheriff’s Office said they were hoping to find a new home for the goat, which was found roaming on Torredge Road last weekend.

In a social media post, the sheriff’s office said this “baa-chelor” wasn’t claimed, so he’ll be sold in an upcoming auction.

“None of the nannies accepted this baa-chelor’s rose, so he’ll be auctioned off,” according to the social media post.

Anyone who wishes to take the goat home can attend the auction, set to be held at the Animal Protection Society of Durham at 2117 Club Blvd. on Sept. 23 at 9 a.m.

All auctions are cash only. Click here for more information on sheriff’s office auctions.
