MORGANTON, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A repeat offender’s charges in the last two years reached north of 30 this week when he failed to appear for a plea agreement.

According to the Burke County Sheriff’s Office, 50-year-old Jon Bradley Williams was expected in court Sept. 9 and Sept. 12 to resolve multiple pending charges. The Burke County District Attorney’s Office and his counsel had reportedly come to a plea agreement for them.

On both dates, Williams failed to appear, which resulted in failure to appear warrants being issued from Burke County Superior Court and Burke County District Court.

Later on Sept. 12, deputies and detectives went to Knobs Landing in Connelly Springs to locate Williams and to serve the outstanding warrants. Williams was reportedly located attempting to flee by packing his truck full of his clothes and other belongings. Williams was taken into custody and transported to the Burke County Magistrate’s Office where the outstanding warrants were served.
