GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — No one wants to hear the sound of glass breaking in the middle of the night.

A Greensboro homeowner who did not want to be identified said that just after midnight on Sunday, her doorbell camera caught two people in masks, apparently participating in the “TikTok door kick challenge” on College Park Drive.

“I was trapped in the bathroom, and I only had two options, and it was to hide or grab the gun and defend myself,” the homeowner said.

Before deciding her next move, she came downstairs and noticed a window on her front door was shattered.

She watched the camera footage back and had an idea of who the suspects could be.

“I heard giggles. That’s when I realized these were children, and my heart stops and I let them go. Because they were children, they were just making a joke, but they could’ve gotten killed that night,” the homeowner said.

The woman says the suspects drove away in a vehicle waiting for them out front.

While the homeowner isn’t sure if the masked suspects were definitely kids, she has message for parents who may have children participating in the the TikTok challenge.

“Know where your kids are. I don’t care if they scared me, but I do care that night that I could’ve had someone injured or killed,” the homeowner said.

The homeowner did report the incident to the police.

When FOX8 reached out for the detailed report taken, a Greensboro police spokesperson said they hope to share that on Tuesday.

This will stop when people lose their lives, not before. Sad but true. Play dumb games, win dumb prizes.
