    Power outage closes Alamance Elementary School in Guilford County

    GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Alamance Elementary School is closed due to a power outage, according to Guilford County Schools.

    Duke Energy Outage maps show that 447 people are without power in the area surrounding the school.

    Storm floods shut down major routes in North Carolina

    According to Duke Energy, the outage is being caused by “an object coming into contact” with power lines.

    The current estimated time of restoration is 11 a.m.

    There are currently around 1,361 Duke Energy customers without power in Greensboro as a whole.
