    Tornado Watches in several Triad counties

    PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — A Tornado Watch has gone into effect in several Triad counties on Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service .

    North Carolina counties under flood watch; tornado watch in effect for some counties

    The Tornado Watch went into effect at 8:04 a.m. on Friday and will last until 6 p.m.

    The Triad counties currently under the watch include:

    • Davidson County
    • Forsyth County
    • Guilford County
    • Randolph County

    21 other central North Carolina counties are also under the Tornado Watch.

    Randolph County went under a Tornado Warning from around 9:44 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Chatham County and Moore County were also under the warning.

    At 9:44 a.m. a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was found 8 miles southwest of Goldston and 12 miles north of Carthage moving north at 55 mph.

    Randolph is now once again under a Tornado Watch.

    As of 10:18 a.m., Rockingham County was under a Tornado Warning.

    At 10:18 a.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 7 miles south of Ellisboro and 10 miles south of Madison moving north at 30 mph.

    The Tornado Warning was in effect until 11:15 a.m.

    A third Tornado Warning in the area went into effect in Caswell County at 11:14 a.m. lasting until noon.
