WILKES COUNTY, N.. (WGHP) — The effects of Tropical Storm Helene are causing impacts all across the state of North Carolina and in the Triad.

Wilkes County Emergency Services says that the Wilkes County 911 Center lost its primary operations on Friday morning, and service was restored on Friday afternoon.

Helene continues to threaten western North Carolina with life-threatening floods as it approaches the Carolinas

As a result, all 911 calls were rolled over to Ashe County.

All non-emergency operations in Wilkes County have been suspended and will resume after the storm has passed.
