    Man killed in Canton when car drives into restaurant

    JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) – Police in Jackson Township are investigating a deadly crash that happened at a restaurant.

    According to a press release, on Friday, October 4, just before noon, a car drove through Angello’s 2 Go on Fulton Drive in Canton .

    According to police, the 81-year-old driver was pulling into a parking spot in front of the business and hit the gas instead of the brake pedal.

    The car went through the front of the building, pinning Andrew Grosschmidt, 69, of Canton, between the counter and the vehicle.

    Grosschmidt died at the hospital Friday night, according to police.

    Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor. No charges have been filed at this time.

    The restaurant is closed until further notice, according to its social media pages .
