    Man dead, woman injured after Lakewood shooting

    LAKEWOOD, Ohio (WJW) – A Bedford man is dead and a woman is injured after a shooting in Lakewood Monday morning.

    According to a press release from the Lakewood Police Department , a report of two people arguing on Chase Avenue between Merl Avenue and Clifton Boulevard was made to police just before 7:55 a.m. It was also reported that gunshots were heard in the area.

    When police arrived at the scene, they found a man who had succumbed to his injuries and a woman who had at least one gunshot wound, both on the sidewalk of Chase Ave., according to the release.

    The man was identified as 34-year-old Bryant Carter, of Bedford.

    The woman was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment, according to the release.

    “Her wounds are considered serious, but there is no further information at this time regarding her exact injuries or condition,” the release said.

    According to the release, a gun was found at the scene.

    The investigation into this shooting and the relationship between the two people involved is ongoing.

    “It appears that they were familiar with each other,” the release said.
