    Nordson moving operations out of state; 114 local employees affected

    AMHERST, Ohio (WJW) – Nordson Corporation, a Westlake-based adhesive manufacturing company, is moving operations in Amherst out of the state.

    The notice was posted to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services on Monday.

    According to the notice, the Westlake-headquartered business is relocating its manufacturing operations at 555 Jackson Street, 444 Gordon Avenue, 200 Nordson Drive and 100 Nordson Drive in Amherst to a facility in Clinton, South Carolina.

    The notice says 114 employees will be affected, including 101 workers represented by the Local Lodge No. 1802 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.

    Non-manufacturing employees aren’t affected, according to the notice.

    The notice says the move is permanent, but operations will continue in Amherst through the transition period.

    “We expect the transition to occur in phases and separations will begin on December 6, 2024, and are expected to be completed by the end of April 2025,” the notice said.
