6-year-old accidentally shoots, kills 5-year-old brother in North Carolina

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — A five-year-old boy is dead after he was accidentally shot and killed by their six-year-old sibling.

Deputies with the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office came to a home on Deborah Court in Greenville after getting a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a five-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

The victim was transported by EMS to a local hospital where he later passed away.

Pitt County Sheriff’s Office says that the initial investigation concludes that a six-year-old accidentally shot the victim.
