Man killed in shooting at Barber Park Events Center in Greensboro, police say

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A man has died as a result of a Saturday shooting, according to the Greensboro Police Department.

At around 8:49 p.m. on Saturday, Greensboro officers, firefighters and Guilford County EMS came to the Barber Park Events Center on 1502 Barber Park Drive to investigate a reported shooting.

At the scene, police found 37-year-old Tyrek Burton in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound and began life-saving efforts there.

Burton later lied as a result of his injuries.

There is no information available about any possible suspects or motive related to the deadly shooting at this time.

Burton’s death marks the 32nd homicide of 2024 in Greensboro.
