RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN/WGHP) — The National Weather Service issued its first Frost Advisory of the Fall season Wednesday at 3:43 a.m., a sign that Summer weather may be completely gone.

The Frost Advisory goes into effect Thursday between 2 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Temperatures are predicted by NWS weather officials to fall between 34 and 37 degrees throughout early Thursday morning.

The advisory includes the following Triad counties:

    • Guilford County
    • Alamance County
    • Davidson County
    • Randolph County
    • Forsyth County

Frost could harm or kill sensitive outdoor plants or other vegetation if left uncovered, according to the National Weather Service.

If plants cannot be taken inside, cover them up with a fabric covered or a thick layer of mulch before the sun sets so they retain the heat from its sunlight.
