Phillies rookie sees an unbelievable streak come to an end
Philadelphia Phillies fans still remember the night of Sept. 25, 2023. That was the evening that ascendant rookie Orion Kerkering made his MLB debut against the New York Mets in the eighth inning in front of a packed Citizens Bank Park crowd. Following an inning of work that saw Kerkering record his first two MLB strikeouts, the TV cameras panned into the crowd, where Kerkering's father had tears of joy streaming down his face after watching his son's debut. It was pure baseball cinema.
Wine on the Waterfront set for July 27
The 7th annual Wine on the Waterfront returns to the banks of the Delaware River at 1112 River Road in Washington Crossing on Saturday, July 27, from 3 to 7 p.m. At this tasting event, sip on wine from a number of Pennsylvania and New Jersey wineries, savor food in a relaxing atmosphere and hear songs from a local jazz musician while supporting Washington Crossing Historic Park. A woman has been arrested and charged in connection to the shooting of a 7-month-old boy in Philadelphia's Holmesburg neighborhood. The shooting, which occurred around 5:51 p.m. last Thursday on the 4000 block of Meridian Street, resulted in a swift response from law enforcement. Three people were killed and six others were injured in a shooting that occurred early Sunday during a party in Philadelphia, multiple local media outlets reported. More than 100 people were attending a cookout in the Carroll Park neighborhood in West Philadelphia when the shooting erupted around 2 a.m. due an argument, authorities told local media including the Philadelphia Inquirer and MPVI. Officers arrived at the scene to find multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds.

Crash shuts down I-78 westbound in Pa. near the N.J. border
A crash has shut down Interstate 78 westbound between the New Jersey border and the first exit in Pennsylvania, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
