Former DCist staffers launch worker-owned local news site
Six former staffers at DCist – the local daily news site which WAMU acquired in 2018 and shuttered in February – are set to launch a worker-owned local news website. The site, called The 51st, will not be a relaunch of DCist. For one, founders say it’ll be a weekly newsletter instead of a daily news site. Troopers rescue dog left unattended in hot vehicle
COLLEGE PARK, MD—Maryland State Police rescued a dog that was left unattended in a hot vehicle on Tuesday. Trooper Shane McGregor, assigned to the Aviation Command, assisted the College Park barrack with a reported dog left in a hot car on the shoulder of I-495 near the Baltimore-Washington Parkway on July 16th.
