Page and Shetterly at Kerr+Jones Gallery
Kerr+Jones Gallery in East Boothbay is honored and excited to welcome artists and partners Gail Page and Robert Shetterly to a gallery reception on Thursday, Aug. 1, from 4 to 6 p.m. The gallery, now in its third season, will feature recent work from Page and Shetterly who reside in Brooksville and have been dedicated community activists and humanitarians in Maine and far beyond.
Women's Basketball Third in WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll
Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine women's basketball team checked in third in the 2023-24 Women's Basketball Coaches Association Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls, as announced by the WBCA on Wednesday, July 24. The Black Bears finished third among NCAA Division I members with a 3.856 cumulative team grade point average.

MAAC 2023-24 Academic Honor Roll Includes 21 Stetson Women’s Rowing Student-Athletes
The MAAC announced its 2023-24 Academic Honor Roll, with 21 Stetson student-athletes from the women's rowing team receiving the honor, out of a total of 3,008 student-athletes. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a GPA of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Stetson, an associate member of the MAAC, had the sixth highest number of students on the list out of the 10 associate members, with five achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Mount Desert Summer Chorale to perform August 2-3
BAR HARBOR — The Mount Desert Summer Chorale will present its annual concerts on August 2 at Ellsworth High School and on August 3 at St. Saviour’s Church in Bar Harbor. The program, titled “Consolation and Promise,” presents the Requiem by Gabriel Fauré and the Five Mystical Songs by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Both concerts begin at 7:30 p.m., with a pre-concert talk by conductor David Schildkret at 7 p.m.
