ORIENT, Ill. (WJPF) – A Marion woman is behind bars after writing over $1,000 worth of bad checks to the American Legion. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says Nicole Keen, 44, wrote multiple checks totaling $1,040 to the Orient American Legion; all of them bounced. Marion Woman Arrested for Writing Bad Checks to Orient American Legion
BENTON – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Marion woman Monday on an arrest warrant for writing checks that were returned for insufficient funds. Sheriff Kyle Bacon says on June 19, the sheriff’s office received a complaint from the American Legion Post #1961 in Orient alleging that 44-year-old Nicole D. Keen has writing numerous check in the amount of $1,040 to the Orient American Legion. Each of the check were returned as a result of insufficient funds. Deputies collected information and submitted the case to the Franklin County State’s Attorney’s office. As a result, an arrest warrant was soon issued for Keen for the offense of Deceptive Practice.
