Daughters of the American Revolution to hold ceremony at county courthouse
MALONE – The Adirondack Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) will hold a commemorative ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 29 at the Franklin County Courthouse, back entrance. This event is in conjunction with the 250th Anniversary of America, according to a press release from the NSDAR.

County gives excessive heat warning; cooling stations to open at adult centers
MALONE – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a heat advisory for the North Country that runs from today through 8 p.m. Thursday with heat index values as high as 105 degrees, and as a result, the New York State Office Of Emergency Management and Franklin County Emergency Services Department are “emphasizing the necessity of caution and proactive measures” be taken, especially by older adults – and senior centers in the regions will be open and considered cooling stations.
