FC Saddle Club hosts July show
The Franklin County Saddle Club held its latest monthly show on July 6 at the Estill Springs City Park with champions being crowned in 27 categories. The FCSC holds one event per month from April to October with additional shows set for the first Saturday in August, September and October this year.
United Way’s Stuff the Bus drive underway
United Way of Franklin County will hold its annual Stuff the Bus collection event on July 20. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Walmart parking lot in Winchester in an effort to collect supplies for local students in need. Those wishing to help may donate supplies during that time from the list below.

Decherd alderman and wife arrested on drug charges
WINCHESTER, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Decherd alderman and his wife have been arrested on drug charges, 12th Judicial District Attorney General Courtney Lynch announced Wednesday. Alderman Justin Stubblefield and Paige Stubblefield were arrested on Tuesday by Drug Task Force agents on a charge of conspiracy to distribute oxycodone, a Schedule II controlled substance. Justin Stubblefield was also charged with one count of money laundering based on the financial transactions that occurred during the distribution of oxycodone.
