Franklin County man accused of posing as CPS worker to assault children
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A Franklin County man is in jail following an investigation into children being assaulted by a fake CPS worker. According to a release from the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office, a report came in on June 18 in their jurisdiction of a man impersonating a Child Protective Services worker to gain access to a child. The report said the man told the child’s guardian he needed to speak with the child, and was given access to them.
Franklin County man arrested for impersonating Child Protective Services worker
SULPHUR SPRINGS, Texas — A Franklin County man has been arrested for allegedly impersonating a Child Protective Services worker in Sulphur Springs and Lamar County. On June 18, 2024, the Lamar County Sheriff's Office received a report of a white male posing as a CPS worker to gain access to a child. The suspect, identified as 56-year-old Gerald Don Miller, of Franklin County, Texas, allegedly told a guardian he needed to speak with her child and was able to gain access. The guardians and the victim provided a detailed description of the suspect and his vehicle.
