SOMERSET, NJ - Applications for the Franklin Township Youth Council (FTYC) are now available for students entering grades 7-11 who are eager to engage with and serve their community.
The FTYC offers students an opportunity to become more involved with local youth, build community connections, and enhance their community service and leadership skills. If you are smart, energetic, creative, organized, and looking to make a difference, the Youth Council may be the perfect fit for you.
The FTYC organizes activities for youth in Franklin Township and collaborates with community partners on various projects. The council takes pride in delivering excellent community service.
Interested students can apply by completing and submitting the application by 4:00 p.m. on September 24, 2024. Youth Council meetings are typically held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Community Senior Center located at 505 DeMott Lane.
Due to limited spots and high competition, early applications are encouraged. Applicants must provide a copy of their report card and secure two references from non-family adults who can attest to their leadership and character. The reference form is available online, and recommendations must be submitted electronically by the application deadline. Late recommendations will not be accepted.
For more information about the Youth Council and its committees, visit the Youth Council webpage . If you have any questions, email Joel Painson at JOEL.PAINSON@FRANKLINNJ.GOV or call 732-873-7292 EXT 7023.
