SOMERSET, NJ — On July 13, local residents are invited to an evening of outdoor activity at the John Clyde Memorial Native Grasslands Preserve (1901 Canal Road, Princeton) for "Let Nature Be Your Light."
Hosted by the Franklin Township Trails Advisory Committee, the event promises a memorable experience under the night sky, guided by the glow of fireflies.
Festivities will begin at 7:30 pm with astronomy observations and activities featuring high-powered telescopes and the expertise of the Franklin Township Astronomy Club. Attendees can view the moon, star clusters, and distant galaxies.
The firefly walk will commence at 8 pm. Participants will walk a scenic, approximately one-mile trail illuminated by nature's lanterns.
Participants are encouraged to bring a flashlight and are reminded that children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event. Wearing insect repellent, appropriate footwear, and clothing for walking or hiking is strongly recommended.
