    Franklin Food Bank: Community Distribution Program Aug. 7 at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens

    The first Wednesday of every month we partner with Franklin Food Bank and Community Food Bank of New Jersey to deliver fresh produce to those facing food insecurity. The food is distributed on a first-come, first served basis at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens at 771 Somerset Street beginning at 11:00 am until all the food is distributed.

    SOMERSET, NJ - The Franklin Food Bank , in collaboration with the Franklin Township Police Department's Community Relations Bureau and volunteers from the YMCA of Somerset County, addresses food insecurity with its monthly Community Distribution program.

    This drive-thru event provides up to 1,000 boxes of produce and dry goods, regardless of residency, and serves around 300 cars and 100 walk-ins, distributing 26,000 pounds of food each time, according to Franklin Food Bank officials. No appointment necessary.

    The program occurs on the first Wednesday of every month. The next event will take place at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, on Aug. 7 at 11:00 a.m. until supplies last, according to the township website .
