5 dogs abandoned in NJ home, in nailed-shut closets with cig burns
IRVINGTON — Five neglected pit bulls were rescued from an abandoned home in the Essex County Township, according to a report by News 12. The Best Friend Dog and Animal Adoption in Cranford was first alerted to two dogs left outside the property on July 3. Upon further investigation, rescuers went into the house and found three other pit bulls in the basement, nailed inside closets with no food and water, said The Best Friend Dog and Animal Adoption president, Lauren Denoma.

CHATHAM, NJ -- Chatham's enrollment is holding steady at 3,525 students heading into the upcoming 2024-2025 school year as reported by Mary Donohue, assistant superintendent, at the July 15 regular meeting of the Chatham Board of Education. Donohue also reported in the video below that there are currently 219 students registered for kindergarten when the district opens school on Aug 26. SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta Environmental Commission, a statutory board, is working with the Land Conservancy of New Jersey to update Open Space and Recreation Plan for the community. The are asking Sparta residents to complete a survey to help them “identify goals and recommendations for the plan.” The survey takes about five minutes to complete.
