TOMS RIVER - There is some good news for parents amid the Toms River Regional school budget crisis: the price of school breakfasts and lunches is set to come down. The Board of Education is expected to agree to lowering the daily price of school breakfasts by 50 cents and school lunches by 75 cents, as the district has an adequate balance in the food service fund.

Sparta Residents Asked to Complete Survey for Updated Open Space and Recreation Plan
SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta Environmental Commission, a statutory board, is working with the Land Conservancy of New Jersey to update Open Space and Recreation Plan for the community. The are asking Sparta residents to complete a survey to help them “identify goals and recommendations for the plan.” The survey takes about five minutes to complete. Plainfield Police Encourage Residents to Lock Car Doors, Keep Items Out of View
PLAINFIELD, NJ — Starting Tuesday last week, the Plainfield Police Department began to encourage Plainfield residents to lock their cars and hide items from view. "Lock your cars after exiting," reads the statement that has been posted on the city's Facebook page two more times since the initial warning. "When leaving vehicles, please place all items out of view. We’re experiencing an uptick in the theft of personal items from unlocked vehicles, and we want to keep your property safe." UNION, NJ - A "Town-Wide Block Party", hosted by the Union Township Education Association (UTEA), is set for Tuesday, August 13, in Rabkin Park for all Union residents. Two Tractor-Trailers Crash and Catch Fire in on NJ Turnpike in Monroe Township
MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ (MIDDLESEX)–New Jersey State Police, Sgt. Charles Marchan, told MidJersey.news that Troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash at 12:47 a.m. on the New Jersey Turnpike North, milepost 73, Monroe, Middlesex County, Saturday July 20, 2024. Based on a preliminary investigation, two tractor-trailers were traveling north when they were involved in a collision. After the collision, one of the tractors began to catch on fire. No injuries were reported on scene. The crash remains under investigation, and there is no additional information available.
