Carmen’s Crew gets by Red Scare to advance in TBT
The Ohio State alumni team affectionately known as Carmen’s Crew pulled off a mild upset on Monday night against the No 2 seed Dayton alumni team Red Scare, 71-60 to advance to the round of 16 in The Basketball Tournament. Even more impressive is that Carmen’s Crew won inside the University of Dayton arena in front of a pro Red Scare crowd. It was a nip and tuck affair heading into halftime with Carmen’s Crew taking a five-point lead into the break. Scoring was awfully difficult midway through the third quarter with both teams struggling to shoot the ball. It was Carmen’s...

Consequences continue as bill at center of Ohio utility corruption scandal marks fifth anniversary
Five years after Gov. Mike DeWine signed House Bill 6 into law, Ohio citizens and ratepayers are still paying the price. Ohio lawmakers still haven’t taken steps to repeal the rest of the nuclear and coal bailout bill, which is the focus of what prosecutors say was a roughly $60 million bribery scheme by utility FirstEnergy and its affiliates. Cases continue to wind through the courts, and two men implicated in the scandal have apparently taken their own lives.

1 Mets prospect who should headline a trade with the Reds for bullpen help
The Cincinnati Reds have decided they won’t go to battle this year and will instead sit this one out or at least sell off a few pieces to shuffle the cards. Getting swept over the weekend has turned them from NL Wild Card contenders to sellers to some extent. Players on expiring contracts are now up for grabs and this team has a couple of candidates on the roster the New York Mets should have interest in.

Carmen's Crew beats Red Scare as Ohio State alumni take down Dayton counterparts in TBT
If Carmen's Crew wants to earn its first The Basketball Tournament title since 2019, it's following a familiar path. In a rematch of a 2019 TBT game between the Ohio State and Dayton alumni teams, the Buckeyes again came out on top. Five years ago, the game was played The Capital Center as a de facto home game for the Ohio State team, and the home fans enjoyed an 85-71 win.
