Grant applications open for special education teachers

(WKBN) — Applications are now open for the 2024 Autism Society of the Mahoning Valley teacher mini-grants program.

The application asks teachers to explain the types of programs that could be provided by the Autism Society that would be helpful for students and/or their caregivers. Teachers should provide details about a requested item or service that helps to meet the needs and goals of students with autism, as well as its expense.

The grant application window is open now until Aug. 18. Those interested can apply here .

The first-place winner will be awarded $500 toward their classroom project, with a second- and third-place winner receiving $250 and $100, respectively. Grants will be awarded in August and selected by the Autism Society of Mahoning Valley Board of Directors.
