Man wanted for questioning in connection to deadly shooting of a 3-year-old boy

Metro Police are searching for a man wanted for questioning in connection to the deadly shooting of a 3-year-old boy on Wednesday.

According to police, officers responded to the apartment on Oakwood Avenue just before 9 p.m. and found that Aydeen Pruitt had a gunshot wound to his head. He was then rushed to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His mother told detectives she was in the kitchen when she heard a loud pop come from the bedroom. That's when 23-year-old Dandre Pruitt fled the apartment.

Police say he fled with the gun in a white Kia Soul.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Dandre Pruitt is asked to call 615-862-8600.
