Robert’s Western World to Celebrate 25 Years With Block Party
On August 5th, Robert’s Western World, known as Nashville’s Home of Traditional Country Music, will celebrate its 25th year under the proprietorship of JesseLee Jones, the leader of its house band, Brazilbilly. Robert’s is taking over the stretch of Lower Broadway between Fourth and Fifth Avenues just outside of the venue for a block party. State offering $2 million in grants for historic restoration/rehab projects
NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Historical Commission announced a new grant to help cover the cost of restoring National Register-listed historic properties in the state. Overall, $2 million is available from the Historic Property/Land Acquisition Fund (HPLAF) Grant Program this year. Applications are open now through Aug. 31. The grants are competitive and can be used for historic restoration or rehabilitation projects for National Register-listed properties that have a public benefit. ...
Tennessee beats out Georgia for blue-chip linebacker from Peach State
Tennessee has earned a commitment from Covington (Ga.) Eastside linebacker Christian Gass. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound defender gave his verbal commitment to the Vols on Saturday, picking coach Josh Heupel’s group over Georgia and USC. The Peach State linebacker had offers from more than 2 dozen schools, including half of the SEC.
Update on Nashville Predators and Spencer Stastney arbitration negotiations
